Spring legends: THE appointment of this magical start to the year 2009!

The friendly city in the French Ardennes Monthermé prepares to welcome the people of fairies, goblins, elves and dragons for a weekend full of colorful Fairy. The magical people and there will of course count on you to show you many, many, so many that the farandoles will continue for centuries, the murmurs of fairies are like the songs of thousands of birds in a summer morning. So, no excuses, no time or place can prevent you from coming to this first meeting of the year the magical 21 and March 22, 2009! And to give you a little preview, quick exchange with Hervé Gourdet, head of the festival "Spring of Legends"
Hence the idea is part of the festival focuses on the fairy?
The idea started a while ago already, it starts from the observation that the Ardennes (both French and Belgian) has a legendary heritage very important (the second after Britain, according to Albert Meyrac the 19th century already) and it is for the most part unknown. So it was to unite the Ardennes about their heritage and to know it to other regions.
For a first edition, you have a wonderful guest list! The program was difficult to implement?
Not really, they are for most people whose work we appreciate a long time. All were present with real kindness and interest.
Tell us briefly the exhibitions to be visible at the show ...
There are many! The local address of a local legend, but also people like Severin Pineau (Ysambre) Camprubi Krystal, Ellen, Godo ... the younger generation of illustrators very talented. An exhibition of the Scottish Ruickbie Leo, Ph.D. in history of witchcraft ... ... Many different styles and different media, painting, photography, and even figurines and puppets (see the work of Emilie Etienne).
Monthermé, a region of legends? Can you give some examples of elves or fairies in your area?
Monthermé is located in the valley Semoy region famous for its fairy, appearance and size human there are also male fés, there are also roudges bounettes, famous for their wicked tricks! There is also a little further north and the famous nutons legendary places abound: the Castle of the Devil or the crests of the four son Amon, Dames de Meuse ...
Alongside the exhibition of authors, signings and exhibitions, other events are planned?
There will be many things: entertainment for children (calligraphy, costumes, binding ...), music (Scottish, Irish ...) conferences (with Albert Moxhet, Edward Brasey Leo Ruickbie ...) and an evening concert and storytelling (Joanne McIver and Christophe Saunière), among others!
You expect many visitors for this first edition?
Hard to say, but we hope an attendance of 2000-3000 people on the weekend

We hope so! A magical festival but authentic, rooted in the minds of the Ardennes, not too Disneyland-style, but an enhancement of the heritage and legendary forest which he was born.

Yes, money is an eternal problem for those who could not go to the foot of a rainbow. We bring back some memories of this festival as a first appointment is always more magical! It has much more time to discuss with the authors and enjoy. The organizers expect 2000-3000 visitors and Trolls & Legends 20,000. I hope the Spring of legends will be as successful as any team dedicated and very dynamic!
